Hedensted Kommune is a municipality (Danish, ''kommune'') in Region Midtjylland on the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. Its seat and main town is Hedensted. ==Overview== The municipality covers an area of 551.36 km² and has a total population of 45,788 (1 April 2014). Its mayor is Kirsten Terkilsen, a member of the liberal party ''Venstre''. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hedensted.
